I’m Alysha Penman, a fourth-year Public Relations and Marketing student at Thompson Rivers University. Everything I’ve experienced so far has shaped the career I’m building, and I genuinely love the range of work I’ve been able to explore.
From leading events and partnerships as Co-President of the TRUSU Accounting & Finance Club, to producing stories as a CBC Kamloops Journalism Intern, to supporting strategy and digital marketing at the Central Interior Business Accelerator, each role has strengthened my understanding of how communication, data, and creativity work together. I’ve learned how to design campaigns, analyze audiences, create content with purpose, manage projects, and collaborate across teams, and I’ve loved every part of it because it’s shown me what I want to do long-term.
These experiences have inspired the direction I’m taking my career: marketing analytics, project management, growth strategy, and business intelligence. I’m excited by the challenge of using data to understand people, make better decisions, and drive meaningful results.
