About

I’m Alysha Penman, a fourth-year Public Relations and Marketing student at Thompson Rivers University. Everything I’ve experienced so far has shaped the career I’m building, and I genuinely love the range of work I’ve been able to explore.

From leading events and partnerships as Co-President of the TRUSU Accounting & Finance Club, to producing stories as a CBC Kamloops Journalism Intern, to supporting strategy and digital marketing at the Central Interior Business Accelerator, each role has strengthened my understanding of how communication, data, and creativity work together. I’ve learned how to design campaigns, analyze audiences, create content with purpose, manage projects, and collaborate across teams, and I’ve loved every part of it because it’s shown me what I want to do long-term.

These experiences have shaped the direction I’m taking my career, with a strong interest in professional services marketing, where building trust, networking, and clearly communicating value are critical to both securing and retaining clients. I’m particularly drawn to environments where relationships and credibility drive business outcomes.

In addition, I’m passionate about working in the entrepreneurship space, where I can support startups through marketing and branding. I’m excited by the opportunity to help early-stage businesses define their positioning, tell compelling stories, and grow strategically in competitive markets.
